01

League position and verified status

Hockeyliga1 is the Norwegian senior competition directly below Elitehockeyligaen. Norges Ishockeyforbund uses the Hockeyliga1 name in its published 2026/27 series list. Do not use the older generic label 1. divisjon when identifying the current league.

02

2026/27 competition framework

The federation announced on 30 June 2026 that the Hockeyliga1 schedule was available through HockeyLive. The live schedule and current rules control team participation, dates, eligibility and any route between levels.

03

Clubs and choosing a target

Hockeyliga1 can suit players whose verified video, role and recent level match a competitive national second tier. Target the specific need of a club; do not present the league as an automatic entry route for foreign players.

04

What clubs assess

Clubs compare skating pace, decisions under pressure, special-teams value, role, verified recent statistics, full-game video, health, contract status, citizenship and administrative readiness. The application must show value at this exact level, not only career totals.

05

Roster and foreign-player checks

No universal import limit is safe to publish without the current competition rules and the player’s exact status. The club and federation must confirm in writing how citizenship, registration history, age and roster rules apply on the intended match date.

06

Recruitment timing and tryouts

Recruitment can continue before and during the season, but a listed club is not evidence of an opening. Confirm who invited the player, dates, evaluation criteria, expenses, insurance, accommodation and the decision deadline. A trial is not a contract.

07

Contract, pay and housing

There is no official universal salary table for every club. Put gross or net pay, payment dates, taxes, bonuses, housing, deposit, utilities, meals, travel, equipment, insurance, injury protection, trial status, termination and return travel in writing.

08

Residence and right to work

EU/EEA and third-country citizens follow different immigration and employment routes. A club invitation or sports agreement does not by itself grant entry, residence or work permission. Verify the official route for the player and club before travel.

09

IIHF transfer, registration and insurance

A move between national associations follows current IIHF transfer rules. The international transfer does not replace national registration, competition eligibility, insurance, immigration permission or a valid agreement. Confirm responsibility for every step and fee.

10

Player application package

Send passport and any second citizenship; birth year, position, shot, height and weight; current team; verified statistics; Elite Prospects or federation profile; role-based highlights and a recent full game; contract or release status; injury status and exact availability.
