Openness here is an EHA assessment, not a guarantee. It reflects how often clubs at each level sign imports and how realistic a first spot tends to be — drawn from our Hockey Market Map 2026. A league being “more open” does not mean a spot is easy or that quotas do not apply. Always open the league page and check the current season’s roster rules, import limits and work-eligibility before acting.
Third tier and entry levels
The most accessible starting points. Rosters turn over more, budgets are smaller, and a clear, honest profile with video is enough to open a conversation.
Second tier, realistic with the right profile
Professional second divisions that regularly carry imports. The bar is higher than the entry levels, but a specific role and verifiable video make a case.

Pick two or three leagues where your profile fits the role a club actually needs, not the most familiar name. Then read each league page for the season format, foreign-player rules and the application package, and confirm your passport and work status.
