Sweden J20 Nationell: player route and checks

League position

J20 Nationell is presented here as an upper junior route in Sweden. Confirm the current groups, qualification format and participating clubs in the latest SIF competition material.

Age and registration

Age eligibility is season-specific. Ask the club to state the birth-year rule, registration deadline, exceptions and whether the player can also appear in a senior team.

What a club evaluates

Previous level, skating pace, role, physical readiness, full-game shifts, development potential, citizenship and last registration all matter. Highlights alone are not a selection file.

Foreign players under 18

An invitation is not permission to transfer or register a minor. Verify the current SIF and IIHF conditions, representation, education, safeguarding and any exceptional grounds before travel.

Education alongside hockey

Obtain the school name, language, timetable, attendance plan, transport and responsible adult in writing. Confirm what happens if the player changes team or leaves hockey.

Housing and care

Clarify host family, boarding or parent accommodation, room, meals, curfew, insurance, transport, emergency contact and who can make decisions for the minor.

Recruitment timing

There is no single universal tryout window. Clubs build rosters at different times; request a real assessment schedule, evaluation criteria and decision date.

Transfer and registration

If the player was registered abroad, the move may require an IIHF international transfer and Swedish registration. The club must confirm the process and responsible party.

Immigration and travel

Citizenship affects immigration, but not selection. Check the official authority and consulate for the correct route before buying tickets; do not treat a club message as legal permission.

Costs and written terms

Do not rely on verbal promises about fees, equipment, housing or travel. Ask for a written breakdown, payment recipient, refund terms and what is conditional on selection.

Player package

Send year of birth, position, height, citizenship, current team, league, statistics, Elite Prospects or federation profile, highlights and a recent full game.
